Silicones for Aerospace and Aviation

The demands placed upon the products manufactured for use in aerospace and aviation applications are the highest and most difficult to achieve. Reliability and safety are always the priority and CHT share these values and have been chosen by many major OEM’s to supply their silicone materials. Silicone elastomers provide engineers with a choice of products that will maintain performance under the stresses exerted by the extremes in temperature and environmental contaminants.

SILCOSET® Silicones

The Silcoset® trade name is well respected within the aerospace industry as a high-performance range of silicone materials, including adhesive sealants and potting compounds. Major OEM’s have approved these materials for use within their products and they have a proven record of reliability over many decades.

Space Grade Adhesives

CHT have formulated space grade materials. For example, we have a 1-part, alkoxy cured, silicone RTV adhesive paste, formulated to meet the requirements for use as a space grade adhesive. Space grade materials typically are low thermal outgassing and have a wide operational temperature range.
